Welcome to the N.J. Former Troopers Heritage Foundation!

The N.J. Former Troopers Heritage Foundation was incorporated on March 21, 2013, to provide financial assistance to the families of retired and deceased New Jersey State Troopers. Founded as a New Jersey non-profit 501(c)(3), it serves as the benevolent affiliate of the Association of Former New Jersey State Troopers. The Heritage Foundation upholds much of the time-honored traditions established over the fifty-nine-year history of the Association, especially the belief that, “Once a Trooper, Always a Trooper” is paramount, and although retired or separated from State Police service, we are all still part of “The Outfit.”

Created in 1959 as a Social / Fraternal Organization, the Former Troopers Association was very limited in its charitable endeavors. As such, after several years of reorganization, the Heritage Foundation was instituted for the sole purpose of assisting Jersey Troopers who have and continue to serve. Today, thanks to that diversity, the Former Troopers Association remains the Social / Fraternal Organization of retired Jersey Troopers, and the Heritage Foundation serves as its charitable partner.

Mission Statement

The N.J. Former Troopers Heritage Foundation is the charitable affiliate of the Association of Former New Jersey State Troopers. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Foundation is dedicated to providing financial assistance to the families of retired and deceased Jersey Troopers and to the New Jersey State Police, as well as making benevolent contributions to other public and private charities.
